So I move up to Massachusetts right? Going to school for my Master's in Clinical Psychology. No family, no friends. People say I'm either brave or crazy to move more than a day from home. But don't people do this all the time? For the sake of education, jobs, or even just the adventure of a new place. People move along in their lives. It's too short to not do what we want to do.
Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and my family more than anything in this world. But just because I am away from them doesn't mean that I can't be with them. One of the many features about love is that you don't need to be tied down to prove it.
The few days with Brittany were good; a little rough but good. Sure we are good friends but you can obviously tell when someone has spent too much time together.
New York, although short, was amazing. I can't even describe how I felt walking through that city. Sure, I didn't explore the whole city. It was Times Square, 5th Ave, little touristy spots that we could hit in about 5 hours. Three goals for my future travels there: explore Central Park (not alone), New Years, Macy's Day Parade.
Arriving in Bridgewater, tired and sore from driving all day, we settle in. The house is cramped and owned by a sweet and steadfast 80 year old lady. Until the guy who lived in my room moved out, we were given the guestroom. The hallway to the bathroom is every doll horror movie you've ever seen, including a 2 foot tall doll staring at you as soon as you open the door. Were we scared that first night? Yes. Did I keep a knife and pepper spray by my bed? Yes. However we survived and ventured out the next day to Plymouth. I've only been there once and sure, we probably could have gone elsewhere along the Cape, but spontaneity sometimes cuts hours out of your day and we were still lagging from our trip. The weather was beautiful, the stores were charming and Brittany loved it. Cambridge was in our plans, but as the walking set in our bones we settled for a movie at the Braintree AMC. Now, I haven't been to every AMC in the country but I've never been to one that had pretty much LazyBoys as their chairs. You could recline it to the point of being horizontal and watch your movie or sleep. Mortal Instruments: I don't care if everyone thinks it's Twilight, I loved it enough to see it three times (Yeah.).
Accompanying Brittany to the airport was not the hard part. Leaving there and going to Cambridge was difficult. I sought out refuge in the two places nearby I knew I felt safe: Lush and Starbucks. I left after an hour with samples and a latte down the T line to Bridgewater, alone. Walked down the trail of commuters to the house I resided, alone. I tried to stab off the feeling by watching Detective Conan and keeping myself busy. By the end of the week, I had been to the local GameStop three times and actually asked the girl who was the assistant manager to my friend; her name is Chelsea.
Finally on Friday, the guy who lived in my room came back and planned to move out the next day. I decided to knock on the door and introduce myself as he opened the door and looked at me like I was about to attack him. We talked and he invited me out for drinks at one of the local pubs. I don't know if he was shy or reserved, but he was (is) a gentleman and for the first time since Brittany left, I didn't feel alone. The details are blurry and not something to be discussed though... so I will leave that story with how we are friends and plan to hang out during this semester.
Textbooks were bought, read and ready for the first class on Wednesday along with the first day of work. I am soon to become the new expert of Sharepoint. Honestly, I don't see the point of using it. The classes are good, intimate, engaging and most of what undergraduate classes aren't. Over the month of September I will be learning the format of a Thursday/Saturday class. 4 1/2 hours Thursday night, 8 hours Saturday (shoot me, right?) After my first Saturday class, I came out actually learning and retaining what had been taught. Not once did I come close to falling asleep; which is a huge feat for me.
Sunday, I met with Devin. The actual time we spent together was shorter than the time I spent waiting for and riding the train. I found him at South Station and we drove off into the city in search of the Cheer's bar and parking. No one in the bar actually knew my name; it was disappointing. He bought me a drink and we talked about life, school, his travels around America, and our futures. He is such an amazing person. Devin, whoever is in your future is a lucky person. We left and walked through the park across the street. It was perfect. The weather was cool, the sun was falling to the west, and people were walking about. We watched a photographer shoot engagement photos, listened to a group sing A cappella, and talked of things we love to do. As it was easier to accompany him to the airport and ride the Silver line back to South Station, we parted ways there and I felt a little sad when he left. I noticed though that it wasn't the loneliness as before, just sad that we couldn't spend more time together.
It's an easier transition into this life than I expected. When the time comes to do it again, I am fully confident that I can. There are so many places on my list and one thing I took away from talking to Devin was to get started on it now.
Thank you to my family and friends who support my decisions, listen when I complain or repeat everything, encourage me when I'm unsure, and make me smile when I need it the most.

From one medium to another
That feeling you get when you realize you are an adult when you still wish you were younger without all the bullshit. Making real paychecks, planning for trips with friends instead of family, people you know getting married/having babies/getting divorced. Yeah that feeling, it's bittersweet.
This post is not going to have much flow to it. There's so much going on in my head these days that I can't seem to organize everything in a way for it to make sense.
Summing up everything lately is a bit overwhelming. A lot of Disney though, many memories, calming down the party life, getting serious about work, rejection letters from PhD programs, applying to Master's programs, running again (ish), true friends who stick it through, Caitlin and Arthur, and a little bit of heartache. Really strong feelings towards Corey but what's new with that.. really.
Planning a couple of trips. DC, Nola, maybe Boston.
I've become a cry baby lately. I don't know if I'm actually sad about things or if it's the hormones but Disney's firework show makes me emotional. Such a weirdo.
No new animes. Just a lot of Veronica Mars that I love.
Oh and Justin Timberlake tickets :)
I should really learn to shut my mouth sometimes.

Various Anime Trials
Instead of posting different times about each anime I tried and did not continue, I will just do it all in one.
The first of these is Heroic Age; which the story takes place in space with these different.. I don't know if you would call them tribes but people/aliens. There is a long story to the intro of how they came about but I won't divulge too much into it. The premise of this story is that it resembles Greek mythology especially Hercules in the main character. These tribes, the Golden tribe, Silver tribe, Bronze tribe, Iron tribe, and Heroic tribe were all given purposes. The Golden tribe gave humanity the name of the Iron tribe. The Silver and Bronze tribes are trying to wipe out the Iron tribe. There is a ship that is in search for the savior they were promised by the Golden tribe and find him. The boy's name is Age, he has no social skills because he was raised by a computer. He was taken aboard the ship and they are determined to protect him. However he also has this power that when needed transforms into this giant monster (Nodos) called Bellcross. I only saw a few episodes and it isn't that bad but the story line for some reason didn't catch my attention that much. The characters also, as typical anime characters were quirky but still nothing caught my interest. However it is worth a try!
Next is Rosario +Vampire... This show was a little entertaining to say the least. A boy who couldn't earn entrance in to a high school managed to get in at a strange school in the middle of nowhere, with a bus driver who clearly stepped out of a scary movie. He arrives at the school and meets this charming, cute, and well-endowed girl who is excited to make him her friend. They walk along talking and she mentions something about being a vampire, and in fact she bites him. He brushes it off as a joke but in class he realizes that the school he entered was one for anything supernatural; not humans. Afraid of being killed he attempted to run away after school and told the girl the truth about what he was. He was then attacked by a fellow student and the girl vampire came to protect him. He ended up staying and that is the end of episode one. That is as far as I got in the anime and not that it is terrible, but it isn't my cup of tea. Personally I'm a little worn out by the vampire campaign going on everywhere so I want as little to do with that as possible. But overall not terrible.
The third is Aquarion. I have only seen one episode and that is partly because my friend didn't want to watch anymore of it. I admit I am a little stuck up when it comes to main characters and this one didn't blow me away like others have. It is an interesting story though, from what I have seen so far. An academy of students compete to pilot one part of a three part machine that is designed to protect the people from these so called Shadow Angels. There is a large background story involving it however I won't go into it because I haven't watched it yet and I may intend to. The main character is a boy who takes care of a group of children by finding them food and shelter. The other main characters from the academy locate him and say he is the chosen one and they must retrieve him. There is a large battle, all of his friends were taken by the shadow angels, he ends up being the chosen one and pilots part of the Aquarion mecca. It can form in different ways depending on who is leading. He brings out the ultimate form that no one had seen. It seems pretty good and I think I may give it more than a one episode shot.
And that is all for now!! Time to get ready to party!! ;)

Chrome Shelled Regios
First off I would like to say how much I truly loved this anime; well, it is more of a love/hate relationship at the very least. Chrome Shelled Regios is just so weird but I really love it.
The story is set in the sort of post apocalyptic world (although it could still be the apocalypse) where cities are encased in these large domes that float about the land. They are controlled by these so-called spirits of the cities that try to avoid these monsters that look like giant ugly insects. There is one city though that actually floats towards all of these monsters probably for the soul purpose that there is a special team (the Heaven's Blades) that can defeat them by the power of Kei (the more they defeat, the less there are and you get the picture). So the main character, Layfon, gets into this academic city where he wants to live a normal life but eventually finds out that he cannot due to his special skills using Kei. It is revealed that he was the keeper of the twelfth heaven's blade at his original city and the president of the academic school finds this out and quickly moves him to the military arts program where he joins the 17th platoon. The leader is a rambunctious girl, Nina, who lives for fighting and desperately wants to win and be called the best. After seeing Layfon's true power and getting over the fact that he hid it, she is excited about the possibilities of being the best in the city. Layfon sees this as naive because she has no real sense of battling the monsters or how terrifying and dangerous it really is. The other teammates of the platoon are soon whipped into shape as eventually are seen as the best. There are many back-stories to this anime. There are four girls in love with Layfon, and being the typical anime character, he is clueless to this or doesn't care to turn off any of their affections. Leerin, his sort-of girlfriend back in his old city is being befriended by the queen, who is undercover, for some strange reason, while all of this is happening. There are also random clips of a different anime that are about two minutes long and are almost a complete back-story to the entire series, but that isn't really explained or known unless you read the manga. This back-story also has something to do with Leerin and the queen's fascination with her.
It is an emotional roller coaster of an anime but very good until the last drop. There is action, romance and even a little comedy. I fell in love with the anime style, and especially the characters; they were extremely in depth and I couldn't help myself rooting for Leerin to be the main love interest for Layfon. So I highly recommend this anime, it was honestly one of my favorites and I am determined to read the manga and watch the origins to see how we get to this point in the series where it starts.
But anyway, I am very sleepy so I will continue all of these new posts tomorrow! Goodnight!

Requiem for the Phantom
It has been quite a while since I have posted on here but everything has been such a whirlwind that I honestly didn't have much time to keep up. In the past couple of months I have watched a couple of animes and I intend to watch more and review more but this is about Requiem for the Phantom.
The story line is about this kid who is recruited for some mysterious reason to become a master assassin for an organization that is more or less a syndicate but the top one around the US. This is also based off the manga (for your pleasure: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_of_Inferno). He is renamed Zwei and stripped of his freedom and trained by the top assassin in the organization, Ein. As the story goes along he learns about his past, remembers everything, questions authority and sometimes does things his way. Ein has a hard time accepting this because she is still faithful to her master and does not question orders. They soon find themselves in a predicament after one of the key organization leaders (Claudia) sets up one of the others and Zwei does something that haunts him for the next couple of years. Part two of the season comes in with Zwei, or Reiji his true name, has been named the Phantom (top assassin for the organization). Some of the mistakes from Claudia's past come back to haunt her and Reiji not only has no other choice to bring in a child, a key suspect, and "train" her to be like him, but he must also face some of the ghosts from his past. After everything is said and done, he is reunited with an old acquaintance and they try to carry out their lives in peace. This will quickly end when the organization discovers their whereabouts and tries to send yet another lost friend from Reiji's past to kill him.
The anime itself is drawn beautifully, and the story line is not hard to follow at all. Some of the important characters are seen pretty in depth while others are not. One thing that would have been nice was to see Ein's character more, or her past revealed a little more. However that was more for the writer to divulge than just the portrayal of the anime itself. The ending is haunting, relieving, and yet very sad. I recommend this to anyone who likes an action/violent anime; but it is just an all around good story so anyone could really watch it.
This is it for the one anime; I will make individual posts for each one.

Finalllly finished
Finally I have finished watching Tokyo Majin and I must say that it was quite the interesting anime. Apparently I haven't watched many dark animes because my friend informed me that it wasn't that dark. (Oh well, it is to me) I got really invested in the characters as they developed, even though you can tell this is an anime not written like many others. It takes a while to get into character development and the story line throws you for a loop sometimes. Overall the story is great and I would love to see more, however that is the problem: the orchestration. The beginning of the anime has its' audience throw into a plot line, kind of like Haruhi Suzumiya, but then comes back to explain a few things. However some of the story is a bit too detailed for the audience to keep up with; but hell who needs to know all the details when you can just watch the anime for what it is? Indeed you can, but you will miss some things. Again, I do like this anime, it is just frustrating how it ended on such a cliff-hanging moment with no promise of a second season. Sure you could read the mangas, but once I get into the habit of watching something, that is what I want to do: watch it.
Basically the main characters fight to protect the people from the demons the people possess within themselves. It is this struggle of a darker side within us all, but this is going off the overall value of the anime and not just looking at it piece by piece. From there the characters form into a little team with the mysterious transfer student as their leader that we practically know nothing about until the second act, but even then his actions are still a bit mysterious to comprehend. The second act deals with protecting the city against one man who has somehow survived generation after generation interrupting the dragon stream which affects them all and will bring about this massive destruction upon the city but yeah; maybe I didn't may much attention to all the details of this. Then it ends on the lovely note that the city has been brought to rubble, the four guardians within the group (which was expanded) can barely handle the power they are bestowed to either fall ill, die, or like the main guy (transfer student Tatsuya) follow the villain to China to stop him. And that is it. They don't actually say if he is okay or not. They don't have a follow-up episode or anything. That is what I didn't like about the series itself; the ambiguity.
However it is beautifully drawn; it is also a horror/action anime with a bit of comedy on the side. I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but if that is your thing then feel free to give it a try, it is only 26 episodes.
Next up: possibly Black Butler. Although I've been watching a few episodes of it and I can't seem to get a feel for it. I will watch a little more before I give up on it though.
I need to get a life. Nah, I like this one :)
Until next time...
